I saw two motorcyclists while riding to work on the first of my near-daily commutes on my Zero DS electric bike: The first one waved, but the second one shunned me. Had they seen the battery pack? Was I no longer cool enough to deserve “the wave”…? Had I turned into a greenie? Was I on the verge of veganism? Was I about to forbid the intake of any animal-derived foods, products or byproducts?
“Hey, give me a freaking break, I’m just a guy trying to save a little money,” I screamed to no one in particular in my helmet. And with my distinct lack of exhaust note, they probably heard me.
