Ducati’s Multistrada V4 line that consists of the V4 S, V4 Pikes Peak and V4 Rally has seen the circle completed with the arrival of the V4 S Grand Tour.
Aimed squarely at long distance road riders, the V4 S Grand Tour uses everything that comes standard on the V4 S—including the radar-adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection software—but packages it for the country’s mile eaters.
You’ll get the same 170hp/92lb-ft, 1158cc V4 motor, the same electronic Ducati Skyhook Suspension, and all the usual things like Cornering ABS and lights, Ducati Traction Control, Vehicle Hold Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, all monitored by the bike’s Inertial Measurement Unit.
There’s 15.85 gallons of storage capacity thanks to new integrated side cases, a center stand, keyless ride, a rigid-mounted handlebar that we saw on the V4 Rally, heat shields on the swingarm and on the left side of the rear subframe, and closable ducts in the leg area. The smartphone charging compartment is also now ventilated.
There is also the Minimum Preload function, which allows the rider to lower the motorcycle when stopping and when travelling at low speed by reducing shock preload to a minimum. The Easy Lift function, on the other hand, reduces the effort required to lift the motorbike from the side stand by opening the suspension hydraulics when the key is on.
The styling is a bit of a departure from the other three V4 Multis, with black and metallic grey accents and red striping. Black is also used for the frame, swingarm, fork clamps, side cases and handlebars.
The 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is expected to receive stiff competition from the upcoming BMW R 1300 GS that will be released to the media next month in Spain. We’ll be testing that as well as this 2024 Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour when it becomes available.
The new Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour is available in for pre-ordering in dealerships in the Ducati network with client deliveries starting from February 2024. The United States pricing will begin at an MSRP of $28,395. For Canada, the pricing will begin at an MSRP of $31,595 CAD.
